Conferences

The PSE research team has organised three major conferences:

  • The PSE UK final conference presented a comprehensive overview of the findings of the research; London, June 2014. Presentations and the press release are available to download from the tab in the left hand menu.
  • The PSE Scotland conference, organised jointly with the Scottish Government, focussed on the findings in Scotland; Edinburgh, August 2014. Presentations and press releases are available to download from the tab in the left hand menu.
  • The PSE UK International conference on  'Measuring Poverty: The State of the Art' brought speakers from across the globe together to examine various approaches to defining and measuring poverty; Bristol, January 2011. Presentations and papers areavailable to download from the tab in the left hand menu.

Members of the PSE research team have also presented details of the PSE UK research methodology and findings at well over a hundred conferences world-wide. See Presentations at other conferences for details.

Drawing on the PSE UK research methods, an intensive poverty research methods course was organised by the University of Bristol for the Doctoral training partnerships in the South West and Wales.  This course covered the theory and practice of poverty research and the latest methodological developments. It drew on outside expertise from other universities and first hand experiences from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics.
