The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Steering Group on Measuring Poverty and Inequality

The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Steering Group on Measuring Poverty and Inequality has been tasked with producing a guide on Measuring Social Exclusion. It will report in June 2021, to the Conference of European Statisticians - which sets standards for the 60 European countries - but these standards are also usually followed by many other countries e.g. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Mexico, etc.

As part of this work the UNECE conducted an in-depth study of social exclusion measurement which references a lot of our work - even the unpublished 2007 report to the UK Cabinet Office.

Details on the Steering Group on Poverty and Inequality available here.

The Eurostat paper about the new deprivation indicators we worked on concludes that "The new deprivation indicator is not only of higher quality, but also allows more in-depth analysis with the use of additional breakdowns." Papers are available here
